About

Invisible Oranges? Of Course! Welcome, welcome. You have stumbled upon my little tiny corner of the interweb. More than likely, you already know who I am, but if not, here’s the deal…

My name is Justin, and I am a metalhead, designer, and nerd (according to my sisters).

Lets see… I am 32, live with my girlfriend and our two cats, and work as a graphic/web designer. I enjoy the following things: collecting vinyl & pez dispensers, spending time with family and friends, good movies, junk food, raspberry iced tea, seinfeld & loud music. There are a few other things that spark my enthusiasm, but I don’t want to bore you. Oh yeah, I suppose it’s worth mentioning that I am straight edge. That’s right… no smoking, drinking or drugs. But don’t be fooled… a few too many glasses of water and I’m the life of the party.

I’ve never really been one to blog about personal stuff all that much, so we’ll see how long this lasts. If you fear that I’ve lost interest, post a comment and help kick me back into gear. Oh yeah… this is my first crack at wordpress, so cut me some slack, will ya?

About the Name

As you’ve probably figured out by now, I actually do listen to things besides death metal (although I love me some Cannibal Corpse). The name of this blog was inspired by a favorite story from my sister:

i was riding the train early this morning and since it was rush hour, i had to stand. along the way, our car picked up the most “american psycho” knock-off that ive ever seen. really tan, fancy sunglasses, lots of product in the hair, expensive suit.. i wish i were making this stuff up. anyways, as soon as he walked into our car i (and everyone else) could hear a steady techno beat blasting from his ipod. he stood right next to me, so i could clearly hear the remix of what sounded to be a remix of some other song. after a few stops, he pulled his ear piece out and here’s what followed:

tan guy: “is this too loud for you?”

me: “no, it’s fine.”

tan guy: “are you sure? man, monday and tuesday mornings are always the hardest for me. i always need to hear something that gets me going..”

me: “yeah.”

tan guy: “ive been listening to that new swedish techno that they’ve been playing around the club scene. have you heard it?”

me: “no..”

tan guy: “oh, you HAVE to hear this stuff, its so cool..”

me: “i only listen to death metal.”

tan guy: (uncomfortable laugh) “uh.. are you serious?”

me (very dryly) “yeah.”

tan guy: “…oh…”

he IMMEDIATELY turns and puts his ipod back on. end of story.
